1K a year The Patient Care Assistant participates in prepatory aspects of care including transfers, transporting patients between the department and their hospital room or to diagnostic areas.
The Patient Care Assistant assists the department in the location, organization and cleaning of equipment and maintaining the department in a clean, safe and orderly state.
The Patient Care Assistant participates in the transport of specimens and records to appropriate departments.
The Patient Care Assistant provides a liasion between the patient/family and Emergency Department personnel.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
On the job training by staff in proper techniques of patient handling, patient transport, diagnostic precautions, body mechanics and in the responsibilities outlined in the position description.
Minimum work
Experience:
past experience in care of the sick and disabled preferred, but not required.
