Primarily Monday thru Friday, 8:

Requires occasional hours outside the normally defined workday or workweek, including weekends and/or holidays.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Graduate or equivalent required 3 year's general office skills experience required Proficient use of computers including programs such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and general Internet use is required A state approved 36-hour Activities Director Course is preferred and may be substituted for the experience requirements.
Experience in leading and assisting with group activities Knowledge of and experience with various types of arts and crafts Maintain current driver's license and insurance CDL Class B license required and/or must be obtained within 6 month of hire Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

The Recreation Aide in Independent Living plays an instrumental role in ensuring that all residents, family members, and guests receive the excellent customer service and positive interactions that are standard for Independent Living and campus wide at Hartsfield Village.
They support the Director by assisting and coordinating various activities for the residents and assisting where needed.
The Recreation Aide provides exceptional interactions with each person they come into contact with throughout the day.
They have a sincere passion for working with the senior population.
They are vital to maintaining our commitment and responsibility to provide high quality care and an enjoyable day to day life to the residents of Hartsfield Village.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Conducts activity programs in accordance with the planned monthly calendar and as assigned Handles all other clerical functions for the Recreation Department, such as maintaining and updating Monthly Calendar, Newsletter, Flyers, Birthday List, coordinate events, make announcements, data entry functions, assemble, copy, file, and process data required by the community in an accurate and timely manner Assist with purchases, booking events, and maintain inventory of departmental supplies Leads musical, crafts, recreational exercises and other activities as assigned by the Supervisor Ensures safety and infection control procedures are followed in work performance Reports changes in resident condition, as appropriate Reports any concerns regarding residents, family members, and staff to the Director Advises Supervisor when assistance from nursing maintenance or other departments may be required to prepare for an activity Occasionally drive company van as needed to transport residents Occasionally drive coach bus and van to transport residents Report any resident, family member concerns to the Director Assume responsibilities of Independent Living Director of Recreation in his/her absence Other duties as assigned by Supervisor OUR ORGANIZATION Hartsfield Village is the premiere continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Northwest Indiana.
