The purpose of a Security Officer is to provide a proactive visible deterrent to the commission of crimes on Hospital property. Further, Officers are required to respond to crimes and disturbances on Hospital property and to take appropriate action. These responses may require Officers to apprehend violent offenders, assist staff with restraining patients and document these occurrences. Security Officers are responsible for the protection and safety of the Hospital, its patients, employees, visitors of all age groups and their property.
Education/
Experience: All Officers are required to possess excellent verbal skill and should be able to relate to people from all walks of life. They must also possess the ability to document occurrences in writing accurately. A minimum of a high school degree or its equivalent is required. Police Officers are required to have successfully completed the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and have arrest powers in Lake County, Indiana. Other armed Security Officers are required to have successfully completed an accredited Law Enforcement Academy and possess an unlimited Indiana handgun permit. Further, all Officers must successfully qualify with their weapons each year and submit certification of same. Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state of their legal residence.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
